What the hell are the weird tooth things on its face meant to be? Gen 4 manages to be that one generation with a ton of the absolute best mons and the absolute worst, and not much mediocrity. There's ugly cute and ugly cool and then there's ugly whatever the fuck that is. Rampardos is neat but let down for me by some rare (for the gens it started out in, anyway) dodgy-feeling sprites. Carracosta would be decent if it didn't have the eyes of a granny who chainsmokes menthol cigarettes. Kabutops is a generic gen 1 designated cool design, but inoffensive, and everything above it is great. I'm a big fan of feathery Tyrantrum and the colour scheme of Archeops is really pretty. I can't really imagine better representations of the creatures which most of these are trying to portray. Maybe I've not been kind enough to these final evolutions in the past, but the top four are all probably in my top ten for their debut generations.
