If you're not interested in a game, and you let somebody convince you to play it, chances are you're going to go in expecting to resent it to begin with. It's different if you're atleast sorta interested, but from the sounds of it, he's not a fan of where Pokemon has gone. And yes, Legends is a bit of a different take, but if he reads reviews and it sounds like something he's not going to find fun, then it's silly to force himself to play it just because somebody else says it's fun. You've gotta atleast be sorta interested in something to begin with, or else the likelihood is you're going to have a bad time.
