Vesna Vulovi holds the record for the highest fall without a parachute, 33,330 feet (6.3 miles, or 10.2 km). The airplane she was inwas blown up by a terrorist bomb and she was the only survivor. She suffered a fractured skull, three broken vertebrae, broken legs, broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, was in a coma for several days, and was temporarily paralyzed from the waist down, but she made an almost complete recovery. She lived another 44 years before dying in her apartment from a heart condition at age 66.
