Iconic American Brands, Tiffany's and Cadillac continue to sponsor California skier 18 y/o Eileen Gu despite her competing for CHINA at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics!!

The star skier turned her back on Team USA and instead chose to represent China and promote the games worldwide despite being born and raised in San Francisco and attended high school in America.

Her mother, Yan is a first generation Chinese immigrant and her father an American who has NEVER been named.

She competed for America for most of her youth in freestyle skiing but now she will represent China and even narrated chinese videos for the country

She made the decision to switch allegiances in 2019 at 15 claiming she wanted to inspire young chinese girls to pursue winter sports that are way not as celebrated in asia than in the US

It's unclear where her american citizenship stands as China does not recognize dual citizenship and minors under the age of 16 cannot renounce their citizenship because they aren't deemed mature enough

She will be known as Gu Ailing, the snow princess who has 1.3 million fans on Weibo and mantains signifant endorsements from american brands causing outrage by americans who don't feel she deserves the sponsorship for betraying her birth country.

She said in an interview "When i'm in America, i'm American. When i'm in China i'm Chinese" who speaks fluent chinese. She is not estranged from the country either as her mother and her go to China every year and have extended family in the country
