Except his kid wasn't threatened, and he was from what I gather partially negligent in making his needs clearly known.

If he didn't communicate that the request was due to an allergy, that's on him.

It's regrettable more care wasn't taken in the preparation on his order, but again this is part of why I avoid these places with my own kid, because if there's a bunch of high schoolers working there I don't fully trust them to be knowledgeable and properly trained and vetted in food safety protocols.

It's not known if they made the drink with nuts in it, or just made the drink on dirty equipment, but in either case if the father didn't mention the allergy that's on him. Those kids working the counter ain't mind readers.
