First off, I forgot that there was probably going to be some sort of final battle with Brennus until I was just getting ready to face the Elite 4. I used my six strongest Pokemon (Butch, Stephen, Pierre, Violeta, Shay and Yuri, in that order) and swept him in six attacks. Then I swapped out to the group mentioned above to take on the Elite 4.

Aaron really wasn't a problem. Chase took the lead and OHKOed Dustox/Heracross/Beautifly with Flamethrower, and then Vespiquen tanked the attack, only to get burned and do minimal damage with her Aerial Ace immediately after. Butch went out to Earthquake Drapion, which didn't QUITE do enough for the kill, allowing Drapion to Cross Poison and poison Butch. Then Aaron Full Restored, Earthquake didn't finish the job, Aaron Full Restored, Earthquake didn't finish the job, and I finished the fight with a Knock Off to conserve Earthquake PP. Some Full Restores of my own later, I was ready for Bertha.

Pierre kicked things off with Magical Leaf to take out Quagsire (I was trying to conserve Giga Drain for stronger opponents). Magical Leaf didn't finish the job on Whiscash though (due to a Rindo Berry), getting Pierre's speed down via Bulldoze. THAT made me Giga Drain, knowing Bertha would Full Restore, and I switched over to Amelia to take on Sudowoodo. Earthquake didn't quite OHKO, forcing me to tank a Double Edge, but at least the next hit finished the job. Then it was time for Golem. Aqua Tail hit hard, but Sturdy prevented the OHKO. Knowing Bertha would full Restore, Amelia hit Golem with Toxic, ticking off JUST enough health for a second Aqua Tail to get the (essentially) OHKO the next round. And then Hippowdon went down in one shot from Pierre's Giga Drain to finish the fight. Simple as that.

Flint was the first really DIFFICULT battle. I started things off with Amelia again, healed up from the previous fight, since I wanted to save my stronger Pokemon for later battles. Earthquake OHKOed Rapidash, before failed to do the same on Steelix. But, if their use of type-specific berries wasn't bad enough, this elite 4 understands switching Pokemon out. I tried to Earthquake again, only for Flint to switch into Drifblim and avoid all damage. At that point, I switched to Violeta, who got Will-O-Wisped immediately, and is apparently slow enough that she couldn't hit first with Crunch before Drifblim minimized and avoided the attack. Thankfully, BDSP's friendship mechanic allowed Violeta to power out of her burn, just in time for Drifblim to Baton Pass that minimize to Steelix again. And it dodged not only the Crunch meant for Drifblim, but also the potentially-KOing Waterfall, allowing it to Thunder Fang Violeta down to 5 HP. I switched to Amelia to give Flint a taste of hhis own medicine at that point, and Thunder Fang was useless. Despite its inferior accuracy, Aqua Tail was enough to finish the job, forcing Lopunny into the fray. Butch went out and Vital Threw her to death, since High Jump Kick just wasn't good enough. Drifblim came out again, but Stephen was ready for it, and a Shadow Ball finished the job. That left just Infernape, and though it outsped Stephen to use a Fire Punch, Stephen's Psychic scored the OHKO. Everyone survived the first three battles, and I just needed to heal up in preparation for Lucian.

Lucian is where things went off the rails. I specifically sent Chase out first because he has Smart Strike, and I did not want to risk Stephen against a team of Psychic-types. Turns out that Smart Strike didn't do enough to a goddamn Mr. Mime to even bring him past half health. Enough time to put up a Reflect, for sure. So I'm stuck, fighting a Mr. Mime with Chase (who is my second-weakest Pokemon after Amelia), and I managed to take him down, but not before getting crippled by Psychic attacks. Then Medicham comes out, and I'm debating how to do this, because it's got a lot of good coverage moves, plus Pure Power, and decent defenses. At THAT point, I go with Stephen, because my best alternatives are Butch and Pierre, both of whom are vital for Cynthia. Stephen successfully takes the Medicham out, and next up is Alakazam. Again, this is a Pokemon with extremely good coverage moves. I could've easily sent out Violeta, but I was worrying at that point about Cynthia, so I decided to keep Stephen in. After all, he's my strongest Pokemon, and he's probably my fastest Pokemon, right? Turns out, he's not faster than a Timid Alakazam, and Psychic OHKOed Stephen. However, Stephen's Cursed Body ability disabled Psychic, which meant I could send out Butch without fear. Even with Reflect still active, an Alakazam holding an item is gonna be hit HARD by Knock Off, and though he managed a Future Sight, I OHKOed Alakazam.

Next was Girafarig, and my options were limited; I realized how many of my team were weak to Psychic, so I was forced to send out Violeta for the Intimidate in hopes of Crunching it to death. I don't remember the exact sequence of events, but I feel like what happened was I used Crunch and that didn't OHKO due to the Reflect still being active. It didn't use Thunderbolt, but instead used Trick Room, so I switched to Amelia to dodge the Thunderbolt the next round. Then I believe I got one weak attack in with Aqua Tail, while tanking a Psychic, and then got the notification about Reflect ending. So I sent in Violeta, since Girafarig would've Thunderbolt a Quagsire...but when I tried to Crunch and finish the job, Trick Room made it move faster, and Thunderbolt killed Violeta. At that point, I think I took advantage of Trick Room to let Butch move faster and win via Knock Off. Finally, Bronzong was more annoying than anything else. Butch used Knock Off to take out the Sitrus Berry, and just kept using Knock Off as Lucian used Full Restores over and over, before finally having to resort to ineffective Earthquakes. At least I won in the end. RIP Stephen (Level 12 to 67). RIP Violeta (Level 20 to 66).
