From what I heard the plot is pretty much the same, so the reasons it would be so much better are due to more fleshed-out characterizations for the title team, a better handling of tone, and vastly improved editing. I imagine the tone issue is a big reason why it got so much better reviews than Snyder's previous DCEU work due to finding a happier medium between lightheartedness and Snyder's previous grimdark films.

I'm also growing to resent the whole idea of a "dark" Batman, between not having any problems with the campiness of the Schumacher films (they suck, yes, but not because of that) and finding the Nolan films to not be nearly as dark as they're reputed as being since they still have moments of levity and an overall idealistic tone. I saw Batman Begins yesterday, so that was the inspiration for making this topic.
