I have family members who, despite still being loyal Trumpists, thankfully have taken the pandemic seriously from the start. DeathSantis's aggressive anti-health policies make them, in their own words, 'ashamed to be Republican.' I'd previously thought that there was no floor to how low they'd sink to blindly fall in line with / make excuses for Republican policies, but at least for the moment, DeathSantis has finally provided said floor.

I'm crossing my fingers that this sentiment is echoed in the older block of non-batshit-crazy Trumpers who, despite DeathSantis' best efforts, actually want to live to see the next election cycle.
