I really dont think this will result in much of a loss in market share. Perhaps some in North America and Europe, but not to any significant degree in Asia.

Besides, if you look at the sales of the Call of Duty series, most people who play those games were playing them on Xbox anyway.

I just dont think its going to have as much of an impact as people think, even if they do disregard the Asian market, which I dont think theyll do.

I also dont think that Microsoft is particularly interested in making consoles. For years, theyve been slowly pushing in the direction of having there be a single household device to handle all the entertainment, and clearly they would prefer that everything be streamed as a service as opposed to having devices that can actually run games that people can hold in their hand.

Even if they do decide to keep their games off of Sony devices, theyll still be available on PC.

Will the PlayStation eventually poof out of existence? Of course. But probably not until consoles in general become obsolete.
