For the same reason that people care about originals more than a counterfeit. At least with blockchain it's impossible to be fooled as long as you do the small amount of research necessary to verify the asset you are purchasing is legitimate. You can pull up the address of the asset before you buy it. You can verify in the blockchain explorer which contract minted that asset. You can verify that the comtract address is THE correct address for that collection.
