Lmao good point.

Like, okay. Let me put on my maximum cynic hat. There's a whole narrative about Never Trumpers and other conservative moderates that the election hinged on. I don't know if this is true nor do I particularly care - the important part here is that there's a whole class of pundits and political machinery that operate around it being true (dark shoutouts to The Lincoln Project's grift). For a lot of these people Trump's COVID response was the last straw, and this is another part of the narrative that Trump would have been reelected if not for COVID. Also, everyone has been making the assumption that Trump will return to politics soon.

Trump keeps going on these pro-vaccine spiels that keep popping up in the media (so weird!). It's all calculated to try and get back into favor with these guys and score points with credulous liberals. It really is his normal brand of PR, and we all know PR is something Trump is actually good at. You do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to him.

That will help him in the general. It will hurt him with his base against DeSantis if he becomes the GOP darling of CNN while DeSantis becomes the preferred candidate of Fox, OAN, and such.

My feeling is the opposition to the vaccine has become a monster he can no longer control, but hes surprised me before
