This is the problem with kids who go through high school and/or college without a job. People stress focusing on school, but without work skills and a work history - your schooling means squat.

But what works for you may not work for others, and it's a different world from what it was when you were in high-school. Finding a job is hard even if there are a lot of places hiring. It's a real struggle. And it isn't because people are just lazy or don't try hard enough.

Plus there are those, like me, whose physical and mental health did not allow them to get a job as early as you did. That isn't them being stupid kids. I do believe it is better to find experience before education, lots of people make it all the way through college and even with that can't get a job in their field because they have no actual work experience -- but not everybody has the same opportunities as others and people need to understand that.
