Biggest red flag in my experience is when someone says they're a dog parent instead of saying, "I own a dog" or "I'm a dog owner" or even "I'm a dog person/dog lover". It's shorthand that translates to "I love my dog more than most people, and will do nothing to improve other people's experience with my dog, because my dog can do no wrong". I mean, I have no kids and my dog is the closest thing I have to a child. Doesnt everyone feel like this with a pet? Youre feeding and caring for this animal.
