Tokyo Revengers DWELLS on Takemichi being useless without any course of action to make him not so. There are zero indications that he has learned anything from his actions (or inactions). Even if the point of the story is that he is pretty much useless, then why even have him in the first place if he's not going to do anything worthwhile? I guess him doing nothing is more of a pacing complaint too more than anything. They just kind of eat up so much time having him do nothing.Because I understand he's not a fighter, but the show gives this impression that he's going to "change things", like all of the other characters too are basically "Takemichi you are the chosen one". But what the anime actually shows paints a different picture.

Even if suburu and takemichi are similar (and they are to a point). Suburu has clearly gone through a lot of character growth. He is in the center of attention because, yes partly due to plot conveniences, but also much so due to his own volition once hes in the world. He has decided to put himself in the center. I know it's not completely fair because Re:zero has aired for much longer, but ep1 suburu and current suburu are basically different characters. There is absolutely no meaningful difference in Takemichi's character.
