that's for shorter, unroped climbs (usually on boulders). think <10ft and landing on a pad. usually more technical/strength based, not as much endurance.

top roping is hanging a rope from the top of the climb and using that to get to the top

sport climbing is hooking into anchors attached to the cliff as you go

trad is placing your own anchors as you go. scary af.

bouldering/top roping/sport climbing can be outdoors or in a gym

trad is only outdoor afaik

TC sounds like someone who does stuff like climb cliffs. Bouldering is a bit different. And they use a different rating system, IIRC.
I boulder sometimes, but mostly for training purposes. I can boulder about a V4-V5 level on my good days.
