He's right though, the sleeves don't do much that anyone notices. You're better off experimenting with different settings, wrapping them in paper towels, etc.

Take those little Tostino pizzas for instance. It tells you not to microwave them. When I was a dumb kid I just put them in there frozen on high for 5 minutes, let them stand for another 5. They're nice and doughy and taste great. Wouldn't have them any other way.

The instructions are just a guide. Have fun experimenting. Just don't over do it. And never have no idea what's going to happen. That's not safe and it isn't worth screwing around.

Take spaghetti sauce. Lots of people don't read the back. You're just supposed to warm it. They put it in the pan with the mince and let it simmer for a while. While that's good, you can mix it in with the fresh cooked meat and spaghetti while it's still steaming hot, it warms the sauce and cools the rest. Works out great and the sauce tastes better. It actually stays red like the pictures instead of turning brown like rust.
