Bowl games down.

Other shit down.

Here we go.

I immediately enter what's blatantly an arena and end up in a fight with a boss called Mr. Bugglesworth. Magilou is spot-on with these names! We beat the crap out of it and Laphicet, despite seeing what it really is, wants to keep him. Boys will be boys. Velvet relents after seeing his eyes and destroys the barrier, but it's still confusing why the Abbey would keep it alive - perhaps since it would let them monopolize sale'tomah flowers? Perhaps this flower makes an opiate just like vermilion ore? Velvet breaks the barrier and we collect the flowers, which are a pretty purple color paired with brown that's... not really all that ugly, honestly. I've seen uglier.

Eizen also confronts Eleanor on her Karening about doubting the Reaper's Curse. He's lost forty-nine men in three years. That's a LOT for a ship that has a crew of like 15 pirates. The turnover rate is higher than Target. Eleanor does more sketchy stuff by asking about what kind of daemon Velvet is, and suddenly realizes that Velvet could maybe cure daemonblight since they turn human after she eats their souls. The problem is that they often die because of it, and I find it interesting that Eleanor is so curious about this. It lends credence to the idea that she's Niko from the early game. I also see that both her and Laphicet have green eyes, which are different than their earlier counterparts' brown... makes me think that would have been induced by wizardry that changed their mana signatures.

Laphicet thinks the bug is a new species, which leads to an incredibly dumb argument between Rokurou and Eizen about whether it's a stag beetle or rhino beetle, and I'm like... it's a fucking beetle. Does it matter what adjective there is? Geez, guys! I find out that sale'tomah tastes incredibly numbing in all the wrong ways, and... sadist Magilou made Bienfu drink it for her. My, she's mean, but I love her for it. Also, the two goons I KOed earlier are talking about us... and a wanted malak in Lothringen. I also run into Zaveid, who taunts Eizen into pursuing him with Aifread's trinket and "pointy-beard." Whether that's Aifread or a villain, I don't know... until I get back to town, when Laphicet says Benwick said it was Aifread. Interesting. So he "just found" that but... is baiting Eizen with it? And Zaveid's the wanted malak, eh? I have no idea what foolishness Eizen is getting into.

The rest of my playtime tonight was all weapons management and expeditions to Teepo Island (BAZONGAS!)... and B8NFLL draft stuffs whilst playing and checking in on my friend who's having a rough time.

I did leave to the port and get some poetry from Magilou about frogs croaking in the ocean, which was amazing. Apparently Vortigern was a waste of money since the continents are drifting together, which is obviously a Zestiria reference since I'd presume there's ruins there instead. Nice of them to give some lore for the 10% of players who actually enjoyed Zesty. I would give that game a chance, but... I hear Sorey is insufferable, Rose is a "Mean Girl," the rest of the cast is shoveled aside, the gameplay prohibits a good story, and playing through it makes one want to gouge their eyeballs. I heard Hideo Baba was fired for ruining the game to make Rose the heroine because he was fucking her seiyuu. Is that true? Or just a rumor?
