historically Genghis Khan comes to mind. His senseless slaughter all over Eurasia caused massive reforestation. If you want to include some military soldiers, then Simho Hayha comes to mind, where he killed close to 600 people over 3 months, preventing the invasion of Russia into Finland. Essentially he was considered a 1 man army, they sent entire hit squads to take him out and he took every last one of them out. Only stopped after he was hit by a stray bullet through the cheek, which caused him to go into a coma, when he woke up the war was over. He lived well into his 90s.
