But there SHOULD be restrictions on them. Because they are publicly funded you should be forced to adhere to all laws and school policies.
A public school district is a political entity. You pay them taxes and you have the right to run for school board and to be a part of the policy-making process on the local level. If I were a parent in this district and disagreed with it I would be at the school raising hell. If there were enough parents making a fuss the policies would change or not be enforced so stupidly. And that actually looks like its happening here given the hub-bub. Who do you think alerted the media?
