Incidents like this always give you a sudden realization on the fragility of life... I got T-boned at an intersection by a drunk driver who ran the red light, a couple of years back. He hit the drivers side at a ridiculous pace, but impacted the back of the car rather than the front (luckily i was the only one in the car), he completely wrote off my car but I luckily only had minor injuries, but it really made me think if i had delayed my crossing by a split second, he would have hit the front drivers side, and I probably wouldn't be here anymore...

And most of the time these incidents are all out of our control, like yours as well. Just makes you think, and never take anything for granted.

Yeah, I had a close shave once years ago too. I had been waiting at a bus stop for a while when I gave up and started walking. I got about a half block away when a driver rounding a corner lost control and plowed right through the bus stop I had been waiting at.

It's wild how close we come sometimes, and it probably happens more often than we realize.
