Anyone who chooses a pitbull among all of the options out there is doing so at least in part because of the notoriety of having one. Anyone making this choice is taking a risk, especially if the dog is adopted at an older age. There are people qualified to take that risk, but many are not. They should exist and there are people that they're probably the right fit for, but there are way the heck too many of them filling up adoption centers/etc. My neighbor has two.
