Cheating is never justified, and being "unhappy" in a relationship certainly doesn't justify it. If you're not happy, then fucking leave! People cheat b/c they're selfish and want the security of the relationship and the thrill of the side fling, or they intentionally hold onto the relationship until they're reasonably sure their new partner is willing to commit to them ("monkey branching"). That comment is straight up victim-blaming and toxic as fuck. Way too many victims of cheating do get gaslit into believing it's their fault, and it's really disgusting.
