Our own lives tend to be full of surprises. Time will tell. People have been surprised. But most of the time, they were surprised by things that may others knew would happen. Though, hidsight is always 20-20, so make of that what you will. But in the end, you're right that only time will tell... But based on the things currently happening (Like whatever Texas is trying to do with gay people, and the making abortion illegal again thing, and just everything we're constantly hearing about), it seems we're going in the wrong direction.
