TopicIf Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie, then why do... (Minor Spoilers)

Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie - it's set at Christmas, but Christmas isn't necessary for the plot (it could have been any party), not are the traditional festive themes necessary to the film. It even released in July when it first came out. It's no more a Christmas movie than Jurassic World (which was another Summer Blockbuster where the plot was kicked off by the protagonists travelling for Christmas).

But, that said, while it might not be a Christmas movie, it has definitely become a Christmas tradition. Watching Die Hard is as much a part of my annual festivities as the turkey, the tree, or the desire for the in-laws to finally fuck off home.
