(Unless I'm missing one) I've been playing Dynasty Warriors since 3 (not 9 yet though, I've heard bad things). I never really branched out to other musou games, I played like twenty minutes of one Samurai Warriors once. Dynasty Warriors is enough for me! It even inspired me to read Romance of the Three Kingdoms! It's also a series where each new entry effectively replaces the previous one, which is why 8 is the only one listed. I just love the simple joy of slashing through hundreds of goons in that warm and familiar setting. DW has some strategic elements and sometimes enemy generals can put up a fight, but for me it's mostly just mindless fun.
