Light Chasers is an important album for me because I discovered it, as well as the band, during a vulnerable time in my life, so it makes sense that the heavy push for emotion appealed to me. It was also designed to be a concept album and those can be a tad hamfisted. The lead singer, who does most of the writing, definitely prefers to get lost in topics dealing with some sort of existentialism. Sometimes it's an emphasis on positivity and optimism and sometimes it's an emphasis on searching for meaning. I can 100% understand how someone can come away with the opinions you did regarding the pursuit of emotion and the "indie spirit" or whatever we want to refer to it as. The band's studio is a literal cabin in the woods, so they are all about being wrapped up in it. I'll take your takeaway as a win. Thanks for your thoughts! --- snowpork azuarc is OP. ...
