Topic	Is Smash Bros a fighting game franchise?

To me, the most telling thing is the lack of cross-play between Smash and every other fighting game. Most fighting game players embrace multiple game franchises, but there's a schism between Smash communities and the rest, which speaks for it not fitting in. That's cultural. There's bad blood there.
