Going to try again and see how far I get before another glitch ruins my play through. Im going with a Hammer based Paladin this time. Any tips? I have some decent gear like a Spirit Crystal Sword, a Lore helm, a Stealth chest, a Ravenfrost, and a Rhyme shield for it once hes high enough level. What skill should I prioritize first? I know Blessed Hammer, Concentration, Blesses Aim and Vigor are all important.

Put 1 point in Concentration when it becomes available (and anything else useful like Holy Shield and Vigor), then max Blessed Hammer, Vigor, Blessed Aim and Concentration in that order. Then finish off with the rest in Holy Shield. Some put points in Resist Lightning for max Light Res, but that's more of a PvP thing.

As Winrawr mentioned, you want to reach 125% Faster Cast Rate, which gives a large DPS boost and allows you to fire hammers off quicker.

Thanks. Any suggested base for a base for it? Do all Paladin shields have resists? And should I use my socket craft reward for it or try and get it to drop?

A Sacred Targe is the best as it gives the highest block % (60). Getting one of those (or any other Elite Pala shield) with 40+ Res will be tough. If you can get any 4 soc Pala shield with a lot of Res, knock yourself out.

Anywhere that's good for socketables generally is where you want to try. Hit Armor Racks too (but they're more useful in Single Player since map seeds don't change unless the difficulty does).
