Huh. I'm pretty sure I mashed every button but maybe that was it. I ended up nuking my save on my Epic account but even a new file didn't work. I ended up just buying the game on Steam and it works.

I was having a miserable time though. I think the breadcrumbs to get into this are fine as yet another breadcrumb when you are figuring out the game in a first playthrough but when you've installed the game just to get into it, it's pretty annoying to get going. It got better though once I flew into the black spot. Even that was annoying since I flew through it twice with nothing happening and had to restart the loop to try again twice. But once I was in there, damn that place is awesome. I wasn't expecting that at all but at th same time it's exactly what I expected from this game. I haven't gotten far but I'm super excited about the ringworld.
