Having played a few days worth of Story of Seasons: Olive Town, I absolutely do not recommend it. It is literally worse than Stardew in every way.

Do you like having a clean and tidy farm? Tough shit, you're gonna get constant weeds, trees, rocks and puddles spawning all over the place because we couldn't put good sources of those materials elsewhere for some reason.

Do you like knowing what the best food to keep your energy up in the mines is? Tough shit, just eat this thing and hope for the best.

Do you like having all your processors out of the way and tightly bundled? Tough shit, they're gonna be out front with forced spaces between them, because we assume you're gonna want to run between them at all times.

Do you like having unidentified items from the mines be able to stack? Tough shit, every single one is gonna take up its own inventory slot. And then we're gonna make you sit through a fade-to-black every time you go to identify one.

Do you like being able to ship every single potentially valuable item you find? Tough shit, because there's a limit on how much the shipping container can hold!

Do you like being able to decorate your house? Tough shit, you can only decorate one specific corner!

Ugh, couldn't even make it through the whole five day trial. So far, Stardew remains the gold standard. And while I'm not expecting every farming simulator to be as good as it, I am expecting a certain degree of care from a developer who knows what they're doing. If they were trying to rip off Stardew, then they had no idea why things worked the way they did there.

Oof, that's unfortunate to hear.
