And every other new MMO that put out extra servers on launch ended up with a bunch of dead servers a few months later after the initial rush died down considering the whole point of AWS is that they have tons of servers for people to use for a price that are available on an as-needed basis for situations exactly like this then yeah, it just seems pathetic to me. they can take the servers they already have, deploy the containers, and have enough resources. it shouldn't even take that long if their architecture was set up correctly, maybe an hour or two to deploy and sync everything up. the price for other consumers goes up, but they can have an easy launch and get a bunch of good press from it. then when the initial launch rush dies down, they can free up those servers for use by other paid customers --- The Earth is round.
