It's a consistent problem with these kinds of games that babysitting the AI can become a chore when you start facing strong enemies. My strategy for the fight against ~~Artorias and Laphicet~~ was to set their AI to stay as far away from me as possible, then use Velvet to beat Enemy 2 into the corner and burst them down before Enemy 1 wiped my three allies and/or burned through my stash of healing items. Then there was the time that I lost three members to the final ~~Shigure~~ fight and AI Rokurou almost solo'd him.
