yeah for sure. though I don't know if I'd say the earliest areas were the hardest. the areas overall were ok. some of the earlier bosses definitely gave me waaay more trouble than later bosses though. still can't believe i beat Ornstein and Smough on my first try after all the, for lack of a better word, fearmongering lol

oh nice. I always felt bad for the NPCs. seemed like a very dreary world.
I only summoned for Manus though. I liked playing solo

I think what it comes down to is that no matter how high level you get or how powerful your build is, if you get complacent at ANY point in the game then it immediately punishes you for it. Like, even 3 low level zombies will fuck you up if you try and run in sword blazing without any thought.

But the opposite is true too. So I think that's why the scariest bosses are easiest for some people, because you get ultra prepared for it. I think I beat ornstein and smough on my 3rd try, definitely didnt mess with me as much as I thought it was going to.
