From there, I went on to do the DLC rather than finish the game early. The DLC was not very long, but it had the 2 most challenging bosses for me. Starting off in the Sanctuary Garden and going straight into a boss fight was a good way of letting you know not to get complacent... The Sanctuary Guardian was incredibly agile. I was intimidated. I died a couple of times until I seemingly got lucky and was able to open up on its side as it landed next to me.

The Royal Wood was annoying to clear. Like with most things in this game, they sometimes seem incredibly difficult at first until you get into the rhythm. Overall it looked a lot like that one part of Darkroot Garden with the cats and mushrooms. Artorias... oh Artorias. You took me 3 or 4 days to beat. I wasn't even mad. The dude was impressive. I have to say that despite me dying easily like 50 times or something, he's probably the coolest boss in the game.

Oolacile Township was ok. I think they were trying to go for the whole Undead Burg vibe but I was kind of over it by this point. Those pumpkin head dudes were whatever, but fuck the sorcerers. I didn't like how fast those spells get to you. I probably got hit more often than I was able to dodge. Kalameet wasn't too bad. Gough is the shit, though. That dude's a badass. I think Kalameet only took me a few attempts when I realized I didn't have to tank that fire attack he centers around himself and that I could actually just run away.

The last area of the DLC, the Chasm of the Abyss. Man. I just beat this area today, so it's all still fresh. I don't really know what to think. I think Manus got me so bitter I don't really want to think about this area. Artorias was difficult but it felt fun. Manus was not fun for me at all. It was the first time I went human for a boss for the extra flasks and summoned Sif. Even that took me. I've been on Manus for several days and was heavily considering skipping him and going straight for the Kiln to end the game. But I got this far, so I decided to see it through. If it wasn't for Sif sometimes distracting him, I don't know how long it would've taken me to beat him. I can't say exactly if he was more or less difficult than Artorias, because mentally I was just drained and over it. His stupid fucking monkey fist slams were the most irritating thing in the game 2nd only to the Bed of Chaos.
Before I went for the final boss, I had one more thing to do. I would never have known about Dark Sun Gwyndolin on my own. I didn't kill Gwynevere, but went with the Darkmoon Seance Ring route. That boss was almost as much of a joke as Pinwheel, except he actually got to fire off something at me before I killed him in 3 hits. I used quick rolls and cover to get closer and closer. He only got to teleport away once.

With all that wrapped up, just a couple of hours ago, I made my way back to FIrelink to end it. Jumped down to the Lordvessel area. Frampt had been gone like half a game ago, I don't know why. He seemed upset at me and went to sleep. Anyone know why? Whatever. Anyway, after everything that I'd gone through with Artorias and Manus, Gwyn was not too impressive. I beat him on the first attempt, though it definitely helped to have 20 estus flasks. I was still human from my fight with Manus. I lit the fire and... am back at the Asylum? New game+, I suppose?

So yeah... Dark Souls. Fun game. Will definitely fire up Dark Souls 2 at some point soon-ish, but I think I need a break for a bit first. Long post, but that's leaving a lot of stuff out too.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. So, CE. What do you think about Dark Souls? (Now that I'll actually understand what you guys are talking about)
