Amir Shervan made some of the best/worst action films of the 80s (Samurai Cop, Hollywood Cop, and Killing American Style) because he really wanted to make Lethal Weapon knockoffs, yet was a complete amateur. That's why they're so enjoyably memorable and why Samurai Cop 2 was legit one of the worst things to exist.

This, there is a major difference between making a bad film intentionally vs. unintentionally.
