The concept of mandatory vaccination is more complex than a yes or no answer.

in tge context of the question we are talking about the federal government and a federal employee so yes- in that context I do support it because the one doing the mandating is an employer and the colonel can simply quit or resign if he doesnt like the condition of his employment.

i dont think the govt should tell or force a private business what to do. Incentivize ok (ie give them a tax break for hiring only vaccinated employees).

a private business should have the absolute authority to set vaccination status as a condition of employment and exceptions should be looked at rigorously with the term reasonable accommodation in this case being very narrowly applied.
man employer who does not have or want remote workers should not be required to have one to accommodate someone who doesnt want to get the jab.

mask wearing and social distancing while highly effective are not nearly as effective when combined with vaccination.

more stringent scrutiny should be put onto exemptions as well. Ie- if you claim a medical it would be fair to have the employer have an IME done to verify your request at your cost. Religious exemptions should require proof of Belief and adherence to that religion (although that one would be more difficult to check out beyond a sworn statement by your clergyman).

no I do not support a universal mandate but I do support private businesses and the government in its role as an employer with respect to its employees to have near absolute authority to demand vaccination as a condition of employment or to provide Goods or services to them in the context of a customer.

licensed health care professionals should be required as a condition of their license with no permitted exemptions for in person treatment of patients. If they wont or cant get vaccinated they would have to limit themselves to research or the less effective model of telemedicine.

government should not meddle in the affairs of corporate America or our personal lives. In this case government is the employer.
