Trump is the natural result of where the gop has been heading for decades. Reagan was thrilled to let thousands of people die for politics. Sure, it's great that people are leaving the party, but it's silly for them to pretend that it's because the fundamentals of the party have changed all that much. I think past republican presidents condemning Trump shows that isn't the case.
