I'm trying again to beat Dragon Quest VIII for the first time still my favorite game in the series. A lot of people say DQXI perfects what this game does, but I kind of disagree. I really like the environments/towns/sidequests better here. Maybe the characters too. As for me, I finally am trying to finish Hyper Light Drifter. I first got this like two years ago and just was not in the right headspace for a game with punishing combat and no hand-holding. It really bothered me at the time that the game wouldn't even try to explain simple stuff like currency/upgrades and other gameplay mechanics. My problem, I think, was that I was trying to play it like Zelda when I needed to play it like Dark Souls. --- while you slept, the world changed ... Copied to Clipboard! |
