It was kind of whack that it made me use it at the beginning when I was at full health, and I ended up dying on the first attempt because he hits hard and can heal himself, so its hard to keep up with healing and ding enough damage. On retry, it lets you save Overrise which actually came in clutch, as it let me finish him off before he could heal again.

I'm pretty sure it let's you save it the entire time. I beat the fight first try and I used the overdrive in the middle of the fight
