If you are just trying to 'beat the game' then your best bet is to find a dry grassland/plains so you can hunt all the beefalo and/or rabbits you want. Some people like to go long tho and build like 100 tile farms... that's insanity, but if you want to try that it's best to find a pig village near them crawly spider thingies so you can string farm or whatever ...it's been a while --- "Salt cures Everything!"
