If you are a fan of audiobooks, you aren't getting the full Sci-Fi experience. The first thing that comes to mind with that stuff is the movies. What else do you think the genre represents? A far away world that is different, perhaps impossible, or at least unknown, in our own world? Perhaps not. We are just one of many. As our world gets smaller, and the idea of the "other" keeps becoming more feasible, that's where we end up as a culture. The big-budget science fiction movies (especially in the last 20 years) are now more about how much of a faraway fantasy that reality can be, but this is only one part of the equation. The science fiction storylines have been growing ever smaller, and our own world has gotten more like that of our otherworldly cousins in our literature. There are books out there, written by regular humans, with no special or unique powers or abilities. Yet these books, some more successful than others, are being published as audiobooks. Their stories are fantastic.
