Ace Attorney exists in a parallel timeline, too! The events of GAA don't match up with our own history.

Gotta comment on this, because I love it, but off the top of my head:

The game must take place before 1851, as that's when the Great Exhibition takes place.

The game must take place after 1923, as a story published then is directly referenced.

The game has to take place after the start of the Meiji restoration, which is 1868

The "window tax" was repealed recently. It was repealed in 1851, which gives us an upper bound up 1861 or so.

The Anglo-Japanese Treaty of Commerce and Navigation, aka "that thing they keep talking about in G1-1," was signed in 1894 and came into force in 1899.

The game has to take place one year after Natsume Souseki arrives in England, which he did in 1900, so it must be in 1901.

The second game is both a year after the first game, which would be 1902 if we trust the last line, and also has to follow Natsume Souseki's return to England, which occurred in 1903.

timey-wimey balls are fun.
