If you're ever confused, just take the other person out of the sentence (and reconjugate the verb appropriately) and see if it makes sense with just "I/me." In this case, "implying me is the same person" doesn't work, "implying I am the same person" does. By contrast, "a case of mistaken identity for Zeus and me" doesn't work with "I."
