I've always been curious how the distances are the same on the inside of the track compared to the outside. Wouldn't the inner track undoubtedly be shorter length-wise than the outer track due to less surface space running overall? Kinda like the rings on the inner circle of a target are shorter in distance than the rings on the outer circle of that target?
The starting lines are staggered to make up the distance.
