You shove cars aside by running into them, you split things apart by slicing through them, Mercer is a powerhouse of speed, strength, agility, and his whole shtick is that he has incredible power. InFamous is very reliant on Cole being strong, a cut above the rest, but still physically on par with normal people. Plus his powers are more ranged. And there is a LOT more platforming.
