They also did this to Robin Williams when he did the first animated "Aladdin" movie, hence his joke that Mickey wasn't given a thumb so that he couldn't hold the check that Disney gave him. For that insult Robin Williams' voice wasn't used for the genie in "Aladdin 2", a mistake that cost Disney a bundle in audience good will and money.
