Prior to landing the part-time role, my only somewhat relevant experience was as a Graduate Assistant (glorified tutor) for this same finance department while I was in grad school. Luckily, I made a good impression on the department chair, and he remembered me when they needed a part-timer almost five years after I graduated. Based on my experience, I'd say landing a part-time teaching gig is much more attainable at whichever school you actually attended.
