I think what really makes the card work is it does two things pretty well Against aggro it's a cantripping ambush viper. Trading with your opponents 2/1 or 2/2 while drawing a card for 3 or 4 mana is excellent Against control it is an uncounterable huge cantripping threat. Your opponent thinks the coast is clear and suddenly they are seeing a 6/6 haste can't be countered draw a card. This combination is why this card is great. Cards that aren't ever dead are always way better than they look. ... Oh you can also cast it for 6 mana. Outside of cheating it out by returing it from your graveyard or something I don't think I've ever had this happen in a game that wouldn't have just been won by cycling the card anyways.
