super fun to learn so far. The icing mesh is a bit tricky to get right. Gonna go back and play around with it this week.

Oh man I'm super proud!!!
Keep it up!

TC, have you tried zbrush/maya? What do you prefer?

I have!
Zbrush is more for sculpting, while I prefer modeling. Blender's sculpt mode is improving constantly though and will be on par with Zbrush in a year or so.
Zbrush is also $40 per month or $900 for life.

I actually started with Maya in college and enjoyed it, then switched to 3DSMax because my teacher literally wrote the first few popular books on it. Maya is also $1,700/year which is ridiculous.

Both Maya and Max are great, but I like Blender's interface better these days and with Blender quickly becoming the most popular 3D modeling software and being FREE it's hard to recommend anything else these days.

I'm also not a professional 3D modeler by any means, but I know plenty enough to teach the basics as I've been modeling off and on for about 10 years.
This lesson will be like the high school math student teaching the younger kids how to do addition and subtraction, ya know?
