In my opinion, the whales make things worse. DSP is most entertaining when he's desperate, and having these whales support him every month means that he doesn't even have to try since he gets a substantial amount of money no matter how lazy his content is. Sure, his begging is off the charts, but there is no evidence that he's in any real financial trouble, and thus he's still pretty boring a lot of the time. I'd love to see a truly desperate DSP who couldn't just rely on the whales but had to actually give his viewers a reason to support him.
